Tunisia, Morocco, Palestine and Yemen join Arab ICT Union

Four new Arab countries have joined the Arab ICT Union (AICTU), headquartered in Bahrain, bringing the total number of members to nine.
Tunisia, Morocco, Palestine and Yemen are the new entrants to the group.
Founding members include the ICT associations of Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, and Kuwait. AICTU accelerates development in the Arab countries by bringing together the most prominent ICT associations of the region.
“ICT sector has a tremendous ability to contribute to all fields of development and make lives easier. We welcome our brothers from Arabic countries to AICTU to benefiting from the advanced qualitative experiences of the members,” said Ahmed Al Hujairy, the Secretary-General of the Arab ICT Union (AICTU).
Al Hujairy said the cooperation would enhance the integration of Arab countries in the manufacturing and production of ICT and the share of Arab technology companies in the telecommunications and information market in the Arab countries.
Arab Information and Communication Technologies Union (AICTU), launched by Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) two years ago in Bahrain, is an Arab civil society organisation affiliated with Arab associations and institutions active in any Arab countries in the ICT sector.
This alliance – the Arab Union, was formed in the Kingdom of Bahrain in 2018.
Ubaydli Ubaydli of Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) is the chairman of AICTU.
Ahmed Al Hujairy of BTECH is the secretary-general.
Dr Hazem El Tahawy of Egyptian Information Telecommunications, Electronics & Software Alliance (EITESAL) is the Vice President.
