Renovation work at the University of Bahrain’s Building 31 in Isa Town is currently underway with a completion rate of 26%.

According to the Director of Construction Projects Department at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Eng. Maryam Abdullah Amin, the project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

Works at the chemical engineering building include rebuilding the existing external and internal walls, repairing the structure and building materials of the current building, and installing new floors and roof slabs with the development of all associated electromechanical services.

After the renovation, the chemical engineering students will benefit from all the building facilities that will enable them to study in a healthy and appropriate environment.

Eng. Amin emphasised that the building rehabilitation designs have been taken into consideration to conform with the standard specifications approved in the design in terms of creating comfortable facilities of high-quality specifications.

They are characterised by modernity in the use of architectural elements that enhance the aesthetics of the building, taking into account the provision of sustainability requirements and specifications.

The project also follows the Part of the building being renovated principle of green buildings.
