Moving vehicle catches fire in Riffa

Bahrain Civil Defence forces averted a major tragedy yesterday by responding quickly to a distress call made by a driver after a fire engulfed his moving car. The incident, reportedly, occurred on the Umm Al-Naasan street in Riffa in the wee hours yesterday.
Reports said the car, driven by Arab youth, caught fire while on the run in Riffa.
The driver got out of the car on seeing the flame and alerted the civil defence officers.
Soon, a fire force unit reached the spot and extinguished the fire. Emergency police unit also sprang into action with them taking control of the traffic. Traffic police reached the accident scene and removed the charred remains of the vehicle.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed the incident on its Twitter handle. “A short circuit is believed to have set off the fire,” the ministry tweeted.
