HM King issues royal decree

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Royal Decree 38/2021, amending Article (1) of Decree 1/2011 on the establishment of the Higher Committee for Natural Resources and Economic Security.

According to the decree, the text of Article (1) of Decree 1/2011 on the establishment of the Higher Committee for Natural Resources and Economic Security shall be replaced as follows: “A committee called “The High Committee for Natural Resources and Economic Security” shall be established and chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

It shall be affiliated to the Supreme Defence Council, and referred to in this decree by the word “the committee”. Its members include His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa - Deputy Prime Minister; His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa - Deputy Prime Minister; Minister of Interior; Minister of Follow-up at the Royal Court; Minister of Foreign Affairs; Minister of Oil; Minister of Finance and National Economy; Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs; Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Development Board.”

The Prime Minister and Ministers – each in their capacity – shall implement the provisions of this decree, which takes immediate effect, and will be published in the Official Gazette.
