Bahrain to mark World Meteorological Day today

The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication, represented by the Meteorological Directorate, will join the world in celebrating World Meteorological Day, which is observed on March 23 every year to commemorate the establishment of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) in 1950.
Every year, the WMO announces a slogan for World Meteorological Day, highlighting the contribution made by the national hydrological and meteorological services to the safety and well-being of society.
The organisation chose to celebrate the event this year under the theme “The Ocean, Our Climate and Weather” to showcase the connection between the oceans, climate and weather in the Earth system.
