Automatic garbage bag dispensing device a big hit in Bahrain Southern Municipality

The number of automatic garbage bag dispensing device users has reached 103,364 since the start of its launch.

Southern District Municipality Director General Eng. Asim Abd Al Latif Abdullah said the largest number of the device also known as “Sahl” was recorded in the Ramez Riffa markets, reaching 57,815.

There were 22,620 users in Al Enmaa Commercial Complex markets in Riffa, while in the Al Muntazah markets in Isa Town there were 14,318.

In the Ramez markets in Askar village, there were 8,611 users.

 Eng. Abdullah indicated that the demand for using the Sahl device to obtain garbage bags increased by a large percentage reflects the success of the experiment, which is applied for the first time in the Kingdom of Bahrain from the southern region. Garbage bags dispensing devices will be installed in each of the coolers of Al Nour in the Zallaq area and in the markets of Al Muntazah, Al Bukawara Branch, Riffa, to serve the largest possible number of citizens and residents. Abdullah explained that this qualitative initiative allows users to receive garbage bags first-hand and every month at any time, seven days a week, by reviewing the main shops in the southern region.

“We are pleased to provide quality and distinguished services to the public, from which we received a positive impression and approval that goes beyond the borders of the southern governorate,” said Eng. Abdullah.

He thanked Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Eng. Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf, Undersecretary Shaikh Muhammad bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and the chairman and members of the Municipal Council for their support for the project, stressing that the Southern District Municipality is always striving to provide new services that meet the citizens’ needs.

The device has a capacity of 300 packages, and it is simple and easy-to-use.

It does not require much effort except to choose the appropriate language, then enter the subscriber’s account number with the Electricity Authority and then the personal number, so that the citizen can obtain the bags.
