US Embassy, Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research and the American Film Showcase to screen documentaries

In collaboration with the US Embassy in Manama, the Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research and the American Film Showcase will host a screening of two award-winning documentaries titled “America’s Musical Journey” and “Free Solo”.
This American Firm Showcase event is part of long-standing cultural cooperation between the centre and the embassy.
The screening of “America’s Musical Journey” will be showcased on Wednesday, March 31, at 7 pm.
The documentary is produced by Shaun MacGillivray speaks about America’s musical heritage such as jazz, the blues, rock and roll, country, and soul and how these genres originated from different cities in the United States.
The screening of “Free Solo” will be on Wednesday, April 7, at 7 pm.
This film is a National Geographic documentary produced by filmmaker E. Chai Vasarhelyi (“MERU”) and world-renowned photographer and mountaineer Jimmy Chin, documenting the expedition of free soloist climber Alex Honnold to climb the famous 3,000ft El Capitan rock in Yosemite National Park without a rope.
In compliance with the guidelines of the National Medical Taskforce for Combatting the Coronavirus and the social distancing precautionary measures, attendance is limited to the first 30 people that show up at the Shaikh Ebrahim Center.
