Bahrainisation moves past 90% in administrative jobs

Bahrain now has more than 90 % Bahrainisation in the upper and middle administrative job classes, said Works Minister. Essam Khalaf, the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, said the minister appointed 66 Bahrainis in supervisory positions since 2019.

“Bahrainis thus appointed are handling position including department and group heads in various areas,” said the minister.

Khalaf said the ministry has been working for the past several years to prepare Bahraini people to take up vital roles in the Works, Municipal Affairs and agricultural sectors.

The initiative, the minister said, falls in line with the directives of Bahrain’s leadership to empower the Bahraini workforce in line with Economic vision 2030.

Khalaf further revealed that the ministry is pursuing various training programmes to develop national caders, to replace expatriate employees.

“The training would help them assume leadership and supervisory positions in the ministry,” the minister said, adding: “For which, the ministry is developing a training complex mainly for engineers who recently joined the ministry.”

“Once ready, they will manage the ministry’s infrastructure projects such as roads, sanitation, gardens, parks, etc.,” the minister added.
