Owning attack dogs may land you in jail in Bahrain

The Parliament will vote this Tuesday on a bill calling for hefty fines and imprisonment for owning dangerous dog breeds. Fines will be anywhere in the range of BD2,000 if found guilty.
The new bill also calls for hefty punishments for torturing or killing animals. Moreover, the new law proposes fines in the range of BD10,000 and a threeyear jail term for unleashing a dangerous animal against anybody.
The new bill also calls for creating a database on the public and private parks that have licenses for dangerous animal husbandry. The bill also requires building a centre to accommodate attack dogs abandoned by owners.
The bill defines dangerous animals as any animals that rely on hunting for eating meat.
