Bahrain Police trace and arrest driver of hit-and-run accident

Police yesterday arrested a 33-year-old driver accused of hitting a cyclist and then fleeing the scene.
The hit-and-run incident occurred at Dry Dock Street in the Galali area.
The victim was riding a bicycle when the speeding car struck him and sped off without stopping. The victim survived the accident but suffered injuries.
He was transported to a hospital by the National Ambulance team, who reached the scene immediately.
Police officers, who were alerted about the hit-and-accident, jumped into action and began searching for the driver. Later, the General Traffic Department said on the Interior Ministry Twitter account that the man was identified and taken into custody.
“Police arrested a 33-year-old driver and seized his vehicle.
He fled from the site of the accident scene after colliding with a 32-year-old who was riding a bicycle on Dry Dock Street in the Galali area,” the ministry wrote.
Police also seized the vehicle that caused the accident.
Reportedly, forensic officials examined the car and collected samples.
