Support to efforts for national progress: PM

Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has assured the government’s full support to every national effort aiming to enhance development and ensure national interests.

Prince Khalifa said, “The way is well paved for more cooperation between the Executive and Legislative branches.” He reiterated the government’s commitment to honouring its pledges before the “representatives of the people” regarding development and modernisation projects included in its four-year action plan.

HRH Premier was speaking in a meeting with Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, a number of MPs and Shura Council members, in the presence of former Speaker of the Representatives Council Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Dhahrain and a number of senior state officials at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.

HRH Premier lauded the Representatives Council’s ‘objective’ attitude towards the current developments and their economic and security repercussions. Mentioning its impacts on development and the implementation of projects, he stressed the need to step up cooperation between the two branches as the best means to face challenges.

HRH the Prime Minister said that he always welcomed contacting members of the legislative branch to approximate ideas and stances on ways to enhance the national action march. “The two branches share the same ultimate goal of serving the nation and its people.”

HRH Premier also highlighted the importance of the legislative and monitoring role played by the legislative branch in supporting the government’s economic and security policies at the domestic and external levels.
