Ten truckloads of waste removed per day from Karbabad coasts: Works Ministry official

Works Ministry is fighting a constant battle to keep the coasts of Karbabad clean. Per day, the ministry is removing around ten shipments of waste materials, mostly created from bulldozing works in the region, said a top ministry official.
“The minister is keen to keep Bahrain’s waterfronts clean to create a clean and healthy environment, said Sheikh Muhammad bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Undersecretary for Municipalities Affairs at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, He was holding a field visit to the Karbabad coast to assess the progress of the cleaning works. The Director-General of the Capital Municipality, Muhammad Saad Al-Sahli, and other ministry officials were present.
Sheikh Mohammed said the ministry had directed its work teams to intensify supervision on the coast of Karbabad and warned taking legal measures against violators. Al-Sahli said the Capital Municipality is clearing wastes from twice daily.
He also warned that violators would face legal action as per Law No. (20) regarding the protection of beaches, coasts and seaports
