Bahrain a ‘model’ in promoting human rights and tolerance

Council of Representatives Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal affirmed that Bahrain has become a prominent example and global model in the fields of human rights, peace, coexistence and tolerance.
In commemoration of today’s International Day of Conscience celebration, the Speaker noted that the noble approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa made the values and principles of cooperation and human solidarity on which the prosperity and progress of nations are built, through multiple royal initiatives, to promote world peace and the advancement of the human conscience.
She praised the government’s efforts headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in upholding human values, strengthening the role of the state of law and institutions, rights and justice, and ensuring the health and safety of all.
Zainal recalled the initiative of the late His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to launch the International Day of Conscience, which was adopted by the United Nations for the first time in 2019, stressing that the initiative confirms the role of the Kingdom and its position in the international community.
She affirmed the continuing parliamentary support for the distinguished efforts of Bahrain in serving humanitarian causes, and building a common global understanding dominated by security and tranquility, combating and rejecting all forms of extremism, terrorism and hatred among people.
