HM King's assistance delivered to fishermen

Capital Governor Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa handed out assistance to fishermen as part of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s directives to protect them and their livelihoods. Shaikh Hisham conveyed HM the King’s greetings, stressing that the royal leadership is closely following up the Bahraini fishermen’s situations.
HM the King directed the Capital Governor to provide care and support to them and their families.
“I’m honoured to present the assistance of HM the King to you for the significant harms you encountered, including your livelihoods and confiscation of your boats by Qatari authorities,” he said.
The Governor valued the government’s support, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He also highlighted the follow up of Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to the cases of fishermen and their requirements to fulfil them.
The Governor asserted that Bahrain, through its leadership and people, stands with Bahraini fishermen and their rights to earn their livelihoods in security and tranquillity.
He hailed the support of members of the Council of Representatives, Shura Council, NGOs and the media sector, as well as society members, to the rights of fishermen and the state’s efforts in protecting them.
At the end of the meeting, the fishermen expressed thanks and appreciation to HM the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for their dedication to follow up their affairs and eliminate hinders facing them.
They also appreciated the support of the Interior Minister in solving problems they encounter because of the aggressive procedures of Qatari authorities to target their livelihoods.
