Bahrain Airport Company and American University of Bahrain sign MoU

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah and American University of Bahrain (AUBH) Founding President Dr. Susan E. Saxton signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will open up new channels of cooperation.
In line with the agreement, the two organizations will contribute to each other’s success through internships, higher education courses, and joint activities of an extracurricular and academic nature, to benefit the local community.
“Through the Airport Modernization Program (AMP), the Kingdom’s aviation sector is undergoing a remarkable transformation and creating new jobs in specialized disciplines.
We hope this new partnership will provide AUBH with a broader understanding of the aviation industry as well as the potential career opportunities available,” Al Binfalah said.
“Combining academia with real-world experience is vital to create a well-rounded national workforce and BAC is keen to support this process. We look forward to a long and successful working relationship with AUBH,” he added.
“Our commitment to developing the skills of young Bahrainis is the driving force behind Tahleeq, a training and development program aimed at shaping the future leaders of Bahrain’s aviation industry, through both theoretical and practical training, it equips participants with advanced skillsets that support the development of Bahrain’s aviation sector.”
He noted that BAC continues to invest in enhancing the capabilities of its team members, which will benefit the Kingdom’s aviation sector for years.
“AUBH’s mission includes providing students with a holistic and value-driven educational practice and connecting them with exceptional and purposeful employment opportunities that impart industry experience and a competitive advantage,” Dr. Saxton said.
“A key success factor in realizing this goal lies in our ability to nurture strategic partnerships with industry leaders like BAC, which pioneers innovation and excels in operational and commercial excellence. We look forward to capitalizing on the synergy between our two organizations and executing initiatives that will positively impact the economies of Bahrain and its neighboring countries.”
In line with the MoU, the University’s students from Bahrain and across the region will have the opportunity to participate in week-long projects, live projects, summer internships, semester-long internships, and a job shadowing/executive experience program.
Through AUBH’s partnership with California State University Northridge, BAC staff can pursue professional certifications, degree programs, and contribute to collaborative research.
BAC and AUBH will also explore opportunities for collaboration in the fields of entrepreneurship, art, culture, and sport as well as Corporate Social Responsibility projects with a focus on sustainability and renewable solar energy.
