Deadline today

Today will be the deadline for citizens to register for the meat subsidy cash compensation.

The Labour and Social Development Ministry yesterday urged eligible recipients wishing to benefit from the cash payouts after meat subsidies are scrapped to finalise their registration.

In a statement issued yesterday, the ministry announced that cash compensation payouts would be deposited in the beneficiaries’ bank accounts during the first week of November.

"The finance ministry will deposit the money, based on the database submitted by the Labour Social Ministry in cooperation with the Electronic Government and Informatics Authority", said Assistant Undersecretary for Social Care and Rehabilitation Badriya Al Jeeb.

She pointed out that the second cash payouts, which will be deposited in the recipients’ bank accounts, would cover the months of October, November and December.

She announced that citizens who register after today’s deadline would have their compensation payouts deposited in their bank accounts in January, with a backdated effect.

Citizens can report to social centres to register within the official work timings or finalize their registration online on website http://subsidies.gov.bh.
