Winning schools in Khalid bin Hamad Competition for Innovation in Artificial Intelligence feted

Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi has feted the winning schools in the third edition of the Khalid bin Hamad Competition for Innovation in Artificial Intelligence.

The minister praised the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, of distinguished student initiatives, by launching the competition.

The contest will positively reflect on motivating educational institutions towards further innovations in this field, he added.

Al Fateh Boys' Secondary School won the award for the project "disposing of waste containers using Internet of Things (IoT) technology and artificial intelligence software" and the best technology award for the project "monitoring employee attendance using facial recognition technology".

Istiqlal Girls' Secondary School won the award in the private sector for the Pharmacy 4D project while Saar Girls' Secondary School won the Feasibility Award for the “Cloud World Application” project.

The Minister congratulated the winners, commended their effort, and stressed the ministry’s keenness to provide support to talented people and to help develop their capabilities in all educational stages.
