Construction of the sewage network connecting Juffair and Al Ghurfah as part of the BD 2,283,274 Al Fateh Street project reached 16% completion.

November 2021

The project, Ibrahim Hassan Al-Hawaj, a top works ministry official said, is expecting completion in November 2021.

“Around 150 metres have completed using the tunnelling method and 230 metres using the drilling method,” said the Assistant Undersecretary for Sanitation at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning.

The project includes a main deep sewage line (Deep Trunk Sewer) and other lines connecting sewages in Juffair and Adliya. The total length of these lines is about 2.6 km, of which 1.6 km lines will use the digging method and the remaining Micro Tunneling machines.

“The project aims at increasing the capacity of the existing network by building a new main conveyor line larger and deeper,” said Al-Hawaj He added: “This will take some pressure off the existing sewage network in Juffair and bring more areas into the network in Juffair, Umm Al Hassam and Adliya - blocks 324, 340, 341, 342, 338 and 339.”

Contractors of the project funded by the Saudi Fund for Development are a consortium of Nass and Nasser Hazaa Al-Subaie.
