Bahrain's team to Space Camp 2021 participates in virtual meeting with astronaut

Within the ongoing efforts of the National Space Science Agency (NSSA), in cooperation with the Kallman Worldwide, to enhance the readiness of the Bahrain team participating in the International Space Camp, which will be held in the US state of Alabama during the summer of 2021, a virtual meeting was held between all the participating teams, and the American astronaut Jack Lousma, who participated in a number of space flights, in addition to his membership in the astronaut support crew within the Apollo 9, 10 and 13 missions.
The participants were informed about Jack Lousma’s personal experience, the challenges that the astronaut faces in general, and the challenges he faced throughout his tenure as an astronaut at the United States Space Agency (NASA), in addition to the practical experience, academic background and criteria required for a person to become an astronaut.
Astronaut Jack Lousma also shared with the teams a number of interesting stories that he had gone through during his work in the space field.
He also advised the teams on how to pursue their scientific and practical career.
The UAE team gave details about the United Arab Emirates' Hope mission.
The Bahraini team gave a presentation about astronaut Al Worden, who passed away in 2020, shedding light on the “Astronaut Al Worden Endeavour Scholarship” he had launched, in collaboration with Kallman Worldwide.
