Northern Governorate distributes more than 1,000 Ramadan food baskets

The Northern Governorate has concluded the distribution of Ramadan baskets to five charitable societies to deliver them to needy families affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The distribution of more than 1,000 food baskets is part of the annual activities that the Governorate organise on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
It is also an extension of the national campaign “Feena Khair” headed by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation.
The Governor of the Northern Governorate, Ali bin Shaikh Abdul-Hussein Al Asfour, said the five charitable societies that received the third batch of food baskets are Muqaba Charitable Society, Bani Jamra Charitable Society, Budaiya Charitable Society, Janabiyah Charitable Society, Janusan Charitable Society, in addition to the Deaf Association.
The Bahraini Center for the Definition of Islam said that the initiative to distribute Ramadan baskets during the holy month comes in line with the charitable and solidarity work among the community, and an affirmation of the principle of community partnership with civil society institutions.
The Governor called on charitable societies to cooperate with the Northern Governorate campaign “Hand in Hand to Defeat the Coronavirus Pandemic”.
It is aimed at spreading awareness among community members about the importance of the vaccine against the virus and opening a dialogue to respond to citizens’ questions and inquiries about the vaccine in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and urging them to adhere to preventive and precautionary measures.
Representatives of charitable societies expressed their deep thanks and gratitude to the Northern Governorate for the initiative and the Royal Humanitarian Foundation for launching the national campaign that contributes to mitigating the effects of the pandemic on many families.
