Four touristic restaurants located in the Capital Governorate have been shut down for one week for violating the mandatory precautionary measures to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) and curb infections.

Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) announced the closure of the restaurants, in coordination with the Health Ministry’s Public Health Directorate and the Inspection Directorate at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

It urged owners of tourism outlets to adhere strictly to the resolutions and directives regulating the resumption of trade activities in accordance with health protocols.

“The restaurants have been shut down for one week in light of the spotted violations of the health protocols”, said a BTEA statement, adding that administrative and legal measures would be taken against the outlets.

BTEA announced that inspections would continue unabated to ensure owners of touristic facilities comply with mandatory precautionary measures for combating the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in coordination with competent authorities.
