Follow COVID-19 protocols, Bahrain police directorates tell citizens & residents

Police directorates yesterday urged citizens and residents to adhere strictly to COVID-19 measures to help battle the outbreak effectively.

The directorates urged people to continue wearing face masks, restrict gathering to members of the same family, following COVID-19 protocols at mosques and funerals, ensure social distancing to protect the society.

Until April 22nd, the Interior ministry had carried out 8,764 awareness campaigns, booked 72,804 people for not wearing face masks and pressed 9,010 charges against people not maintaining social distancing measures.

National Ambulance centre responded to 9,950 calls related to COVID-19 cases during these periods, and the Ministry of Transportation attended 31,351 calls which included transporting 90,485 patients.

Meanwhile, Civil Defence officials carried out 254,038 disinfection and sterilisation operations and supervised 1,766 operations with the participation of volunteers.

They further trained 1,230 volunteers to carry out sterilisation of mosques. The civil defence also carried out 107 disinfection and sterilisation operations with the help of cleaning companies

The officials are also continuing to hold training courses on the correct methods of disinfection operations.

The courses organised by the Civil defence had 1,180 people from the private sector and 1,051 people from government agencies. The number of volunteers since March of last year had reached 6,062.
