Fighting cancer with faith, colours of hope

A charity art exhibition that sheds light on the personal experience of a Bahraini woman in fighting cancer with unshakable faith and hope will be held next week in Manama.

"Letters of Hope", a collection of unique Arabic calligraphy paintings, is the brainchild of Bahraini painter and photographer Dayana Al Shaikh who has been campaigning for fight against cancer through a powerful combination of hope and beauty.

The exhibition will be held at the Fashion Court in the Moda Mall and will run from Monday to Saturday next week. The opening ceremony will be at 6pm on Monday.

All the proceeds from the sold artworks will be donated to the Child's Wish Society, a Bahraini society that grants wishes of children suffering from illness.

Dayana has been using her skills in photography and painting to highlight the beauty of natural landscapes and sites and to share messages of resolute hope and unwavering fortitude.

Over 10,700 people follow her account on Instagram (dayanna_bh) where her depiction of natural landscape and prayers for cancer fighters are often praised.

"Her pictures make you want to enter into the attractively serene environment she is posting. Her paintings depict peaceful environments, and you get so relaxed even at looking at them," one follower said.
