The Future Youth Association’s “Smile” initiative to support children with cancer and their parents celebrated the birthdays of 19 of its young heroes unconventionally.
Volunteers of the initiative visited the children in their homes instead of bringing them to their headquarters, as traditionally was being done before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
They distributed gifts to them while taking all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.
Twelve volunteers participated in the distribution of gifts, and they were divided into small teams that visited the children in different regions of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
They celebrated with them their birthday, presented them with gifts, and organised a number of games for them, in the presence of their family members.
Future Youth Association Board of Directors member Muhammad Al Sukkari affirmed the keenness of the “Smile” initiative to continue organising the program to celebrate the birthday of sick children.
He thanked his fellow volunteers who distributed gifts to the children and “bring joy to their hearts and a smile on their lips,” stressing the importance of this initiative to raise their spirits.
