New electronic services for small vessels

The Ministry of Transportation and Communications’ Ports and Maritime Affairs has announced the launch of a package of new electronic services for small vessels on the national e-government portal bahrain. bh, in cooperation with the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA).
The package allows registration of small vessel licences, and the services include the renewal of the registration of pleasure vessels and their navigation licences, and inquiry about the status of the application and electronic payment.
Mayas Al Moataz Billah Al Agha, Director of the Department of Ship Registration and Seafarers’ Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, said that the Ministry provides these electronic services to owners of small ships in an effort to facilitate the access by all groups of society to government services in an easy and accessible manner.
The services aim to save time and effort, as well as contribute to maintaining public safety by reducing the need to visit government service delivery centres in light of the current situation of the spread of the pandemic.
The provision of these services comes from the Ministry’s keenness to achieve digital transformation of the various services it provides to its customers, in a way that makes its performance more effective and efficient.
