Prime Minister’s Journalism Award invites application

Applications are now open for the Prime Minister’s Journalism Award, which is now in its sixth edition, said Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Information Affairs. Every press organisations or journalists working in one of the daily, weekly, local newspapers or magazines issued in the Kingdom in Arabic or English are eligible to apply.
Eligible candidates should also have published their works during the year 2020. The award has four categories - best opinion column, best investigative report, best interview and best photo.
The award committee will announce the winners by the end of June at a ceremony held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Entry is limited to reports published in the local press during the year 2020. Every journalist or press organisation is eligible to enter five entries per category. Al-Rumaihi said that the applicant bears full responsibility for the works, and the committee will not bear any professional or legal responsibility in the event of a proven violation.
Works previously rejected in local competitions or won a Gulf, or Arab press award, are not eligible. Applicants should submit an original copy or electronic links with the name of their publication, date of publication, published page, and award category.
The decision of the award jury is final, and applicants will not have any right to contest the results anywhere. Sub-screening committees have the right to exclude any works without giving reasons.
