His Majesty King Hamad hails Everest team’s ‘heroic and historic’ achievement

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday held a telephone call with the Bahrain Royal Guard team which successfully reached the peak of Mt Everest, the highest mountain summit in the world.

HM, the King congratulated the Bahrain Everest team captain, Major Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for the historic exploit, and for hoisting the kingdom’s flag at the highest mountain summit in the world, lauding the courage of the team members and expressing the pride of all Bahrainis in their ability to attain a world achievement.

HM King Hamad stressed that Bahrain’s message from the highest mountain is that peace and security should prevail all over the world. HM, the King congratulated the team on Eid Al Fitr, wishing them further success, and expressing hope to meet them in Bahrain soon.

Motivation for more success

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, congratulated HM the King on the Everest expedition team’s achievement.

HRH Prince Salman noted that the Royal Guard Everest team’s success will continue to serve as a motivation for furthering Team Bahrain’s growing success, and commended the support extended by the HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and Commander of the Royal Guard, Major General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

His Royal Highness also extended his congratulations to the Bahrain Everest team.

Thanking royal support

HH Shaikh Nasser thanked His Majesty King Hamad for his unwavering support to the Bahraini heroes’ journey. HH Shaikh congratulated the Royal Guard members on their achievement which represents a qualitative leap in the record of excellence of the Royal Guard and its brave men.

He commended their efforts during their mission in climbing the mountain, challenging all circumstances and raising the Bahraini flag on top of the highest mountain.

Great pride

Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh congratulated HM the King and expressed great pride in the national achievement of the Bahrain Royal Guard team.

Al Saleh stressed that this achievement came as a result of the support, care and attention that His Majesty the King provides in various fields.

He also congratulated HH Shaikh Nasser for his pioneering role in developing the capabilities of Bahraini youth and motivating them to achieve ambitions and success with determination, persistence and steadfastness.

A message of peace

Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal said the achievement underscores HM King’s support and care for Bahrain Royal Guard champions and all the youth in various fields.

The Speaker also congratulated HH Shaikh Nasser on the prestigious national achievement which further promoted the Kingdom of Bahrain and sent a message of peace for all human race.

She also congratulated the team members on the great exploit which enabled them to hoist the kingdom’s flag at Everest Summit.
