Muharraq restaurant closed due to Covid-19 violations

A restaurant in Muharraq was closed yesterday for a week for flouting Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions. The closure followed a joint action by the Inspection Department at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Health.
Officials found the facility failed to comply with the regulatory procedures mandated by Ministerial Resolution No. 51 of 2020 for restaurants and cafes.
The ministry also announced giving warnings to some of the shops to ensure full compliance with COVID-19 protocols. Inspection Department said they would intensity filed visits to ensure health protocols during the Eid Al-Fitr holidays.
