ICRF kicks off COVID -19 campaign

The Indian Community Relief Fund has kick-started a series of virtual interactive sessions targetting labourers in various labour camps of the Kingdom. The Awareness Campaign, which began yesterday at Chapo labour camp in Ras Zuwayed, aims at reaching around 2,500 workers this month.
In his address, Piyush Srivastava, the Ambassador of India to Bahrain, advised workers to follow the COVID-19 guidelines and precautionary measures announced by Bahrain, including the free vaccination drive. Srivastava also congratulated ICRF for reaching out to the community members during Eid.
Dr Babu Ramachandran, ICRF Vice-Chairman, briefed labourers on the importance of vaccination, washing hands, wearing masks and maintaining social distance in fighting the pandemic.
During the event, ICRF distributed lunch and awareness flyers to nearly 700 workers.
Ravi Shankar Shukhla, the Second Secretary at the Embassy of India, Aruldas Thomas, the ICRF Chairman, Dr Babu Ramachandran, Pankaj Nallur, the General Secretary, Bhagwan Asarpota, the ICRF Advisor, ICRF volunteers Sudhir Thirunilath, Muralikrishnan and Javad Pasha joined the event along with Chapo representatives Binu Mannil and Sunil Lal.
The Awareness Campaign continues on Fridays.
The next campaign is on the 21st and 28th of May.
