Starting tomorrow, passengers arriving in Bahrain from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal should be Bahraini citizens, GCC nationals or holders of resident visas to gain entry.

The new measures, announced by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, also requires passengers from the five nations to undergo a mandatory quarantine for ten days.

They should also present a negative PCR test result containing a QR code taken not more than 48 hours before their arrival in the Kingdom. NPRA also said that all arriving passengers should conduct a PCR test upon arrival, a second test after five days, and a third test after ten days.

However, passengers who are fully vaccinated or recovered in the Gulf Corporate Council countries are no longer required to undergo a PCR test upon arrival if shown the evidence of vaccination or recovery through certification or official GCC mobile application.

This decision does not extend to passengers between the age of 6 and 17. Passengers vaccinated in countries with mutual recognition of vaccination certificate are also not required to take COVID-19 PCR testing upon arrival if shown the proof of vaccination.

All Bahraini citizens and residents with a green shield of vaccination or recovery through the ‘BeAware Bahrain’ application will not have to undergo COVID-19 PCR testing upon arrival. Payments can be made on arrival in cash, electronically, or in advance via the ‘BeAware Bahrain’ mobile application.
