‘Explosion’ at mall denied

Reports of a bomb explosion at a shopping mall in the Capital on Tuesday were denied by the centre’s management yesterday.

Bahrain City Centre confirmed in a press statement issued yesterday that “a ride-on cleaning vehicle caught fire during routine maintenance at the mall’s parking area on Tuesday, and Civil Defence swiftly contained and extinguished the fire.”

A spokesperson assured that “no one was injured, and the mall’s operations continue as normal.”

“The safety of Bahrain City Centre’s visitors and staff remain our top priority and any further queries on this are to be addressed to the authorities,” the statement added.
