Four Asian men resorted to a new trick to smuggle marijuana, using face masks in order to deceive customs officials, the High Criminal Court heard.
The defendants reportedly hid the illicit drugs in a professional manner to avoid being captured and sent to the Kingdom through the air.
However, their attempt failed as the customs officials discovered that the face masks were sewed in a way to conceal the drugs. The defendants were notified to come and receive their package.
And once they arrived, police officers were there to arrest them, after which they were questioned by the Public Prosecution.
It was discovered that the first two defendants were tasked with importing the drugs, while the other two were responsible for distributing them in Bahrain.
The defendants have been charged with smuggling and peddling outlawed drugs. They are being tried before the High Criminal Courts.
