Bahrain lost 18 more lives to Covid-19 yesterday

Bahrain lost 18 more lives to the coronavirus yesterday, confirmed the Health Ministry. A total of 2,766 cases were registered on May 25 as well as 1,535 recoveries.

Eleven Bahrainis, four women, 52, 53, 67 and 85, seven men, aged 48, 52, 60, 67, 78 and 96 died yesterday, taking the death toll to 866. Seven expats, four women, 53, 57, 62 and 67 as well as three men, 34, 34 and 52, also died of Covid-19.

Of the new cases, 1,071 were expat workers, 1,679 contacts of local cases and 16 travel-related. An additional 1,535 people recovered, taking the total recoveries to 198,220.

Of the 24,527 active cases, 322 are receiving treatment and 193 in critical condition. Bahrain has so far registered a total of 223,613 cases. Bahrain has conducted 4,529,080 virus tests to date. Bahrain recorded its highest daily death on May 24 - 28.
