Bahrain imposes tighter restrictions to curb Covid-19

Starting from 23:59 tomorrow (27 May) to 23:59 on 10 June,  all non-essential commercial activities in Bahrain will be closed, including:-

1. Shut down of private gyms, sports facilities, swimming pools, beaches and entertainment areas.
2. Suspension of fans attendance at sporting events.
3. Prohibition of home gatherings and events.
4. All government ministries at 30 per cent capacity. The remaining 70 per cent will work from home.
5. Closure of malls and retail stores.
6. Closure of all restaurants and cafes, with services limited to takeaways and deliveries only.
7. Closure of all cinemas.
8. Prohibition of conducting conferences and events.
9. Closure of salons, hairdressers and spas.
10. Closure of schools and educational institutions with provision for online learning.

The following shall remain open:
1. Supermarkets and cold stores
2. Fruits and vegetable shops
3. Fresh fish and butcheries
4. Bakeries
5. Gas stations and natural gas filling centres
6. Private hospitals subject to NHRA communication
7. Pharmacies
8. Telecommunication centres
9. Banks and money exchanges
10. Private companies and offices
11. Import, export and distribution businesses
12. Construction and maintenance sector
13. Factories
