Bahrain loses 16 lives to the coronavirus yesterday

Bahrain yesterday registered 16 more deaths from coronavirus (COVID-19) and 2,803 new infections, the Health Ministry announced.
The death toll now stands at 882.
The deceased included 12 Bahraini citizens, seven of the men, aged 50, 56, 65, 66, 72, 80 and 89; and six women, aged 36, 54, 60, 64, 68 and 71.
Four expatriates, three women, 42, 40, and 60 as well as a 38-year-old man, also died of coronavirus.
Of the new cases, 1,125 were expat workers, 1,671 contacts of local cases and seven travel-related.
An additional 1,493 people recovered, taking the total recoveries to 199,713.
Of the 25,821 active cases, 468 are receiving treatment and 233 in critical condition.
Bahrain has so far has registered a total of 226,416 cases.
The kingdom has conducted 4,548,243 virus tests.
