Bahrain register 20 deaths due to Covid-19 yesterday

A total of 20 people lost their lives to the Covid pandemic in Bahrain yesterday.

According to a statement by the Health Ministry 3,051 cases were registered on May 27, and 1,970 recoveries.

Fourteen Bahrainis, seven men, aged 78, 68, 66, 47, 79, 60 and 78, and seven women, 68, 80, 93, 81, 83, 38 and 47 died, taking the death toll to 902.

Six expatriates, aged 52, 55, 48, 67, 47 and 33, also did not make it.

Of the new cases, 1,184 were expatriates, 1,861 contacts of local cases and six travel-related.

An additional 1,970 people recovered, taking the total recoveries to 201,683.

Of the 26,883 active cases, 448 are receiving treatment and 250 in critical condition.

Bahrain has so far registered a total of 229,468 cases and conducted 4,568,702 virus tests.
