Ramadan contest winners honoured

Winners of the Ramadan contest organised by the Northern Governorate were honoured during a virtual ceremony yesterday. The competition, now in its fourth edition, had the participation of 26 contestants.
Ali bin Sheikh Abdul Hussein Al-Asfour, the Northern Governor, and Brigadier General Khaled Rabih Sinan Al-Dossary, Deputy Governor, congratulated the members of the Northern Region Municipality, Jinan Medical Center, Friends of Health Association, Family Markets and Saar Commercial Complex for the successful organisation of the competition.
Abdullah Ashour from Aali won first place at the men’s level for losing the maximum waist circumference. He shed his waist circumference by 22 cm and weight by 7.9 kg to claim the top spot.
The winners
Fatima Al-Sayed Ali Sharaf of Abu Quwa bagged the first spot in the women’s category by shedding her waist circumference by 16 cm and body mass by 7.2 kg.
In the 12 years to 18 years category, Hassan Fadhel Abbas Mansour from Aali won first place by losing 10.6 kilograms in the men’s category and Zahra Abdel-Reda Ali from Abu Quwa in the female segment by shedding 1.8 kilograms of weight.
Tahani Mahdi from Al-Qadam won the award for best media coverage for clarifying the role of physical activity and healthy food in adopting healthy lifestyles.
Fahmi Majeed Al-Iskafi from Hamad Town won the Innovation Award by transforming the home garden into a gym.
