Bahrain register 21 deaths due to Covid-19 yesterday

A total of 21 people in Bahrain lost their lives to the coronavirus yesterday.

According to a statement by the Health Ministry, 2,957 cases were registered on May 28, and 1,746 recoveries.

Seven men, five Bahrainis, aged 33, 46, 75, 61 and 54, and two expatriates, both 43, also died of Covid-19.

Fourteen women, 10 Bahrainis, aged 57, 89, 81, 55, 51, 72, 63, 31, 35 and 46, and four expatriates, 56, 65, 49 and 42 died, taking the death toll to 923.

Of the new cases, 1,134 were expatriates, 1,819 contacts of local cases and four travel-related.

An additional 1,746 people recovered, taking the total recoveries to 203,429.

Of the 28,073 active cases, 449 are receiving treatment and 258 in critical condition.

Bahrain has so far registered a total of 232,425 cases.
