Bahrain exerting all efforts to expand joint Gulf action for more achievements

Bahrain is committed to exerting all efforts and continuing to work to expand joint Gulf action towards more achievements. This was emphasised by Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani as he received in his office yesterday Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Dr Nayef Falah Al Hajraf and his accompanying delegation on their official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Dr Al Zayani made the assurance which is in line with the noble directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The Minister welcomed Dr Al Hajraf, praising his tireless efforts to advance joint Gulf action and promote areas of joint cooperation, which comes in fulfilment of the aspirations of the leaders of the GCC countries towards further Gulf cooperation and integration in various fields and to cement the bond between the GCC countries and peoples.

Dr Al Zayani also commended the positive outcomes of the meetings of the councils and specialised ministerial committees to implement the decisions of the Supreme Council and the Ministerial Council and to enhance the joint Gulf action process.

He noted the sincere efforts made by the General Secretariat, under the leadership of its Secretary-General, to consolidate cooperation relations between the GCC countries and the rest of the world as well as strengthening the position of the council regionally and internationally.

The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation for the efforts exerted by the Kingdom, as the current president of the GCC, to advance the joint Gulf cooperation process and achieve the aspirations of the leaders of the GCC member states.

He wished the Kingdom of Bahrain continued progress and prosperity under the leadership of His Majesty the King. The meeting included preparations for the Ministerial Council meeting, which will be held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh on June 16.

It also discussed a number of issues related to strengthening joint Gulf cooperation. The meeting was also attended by the Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and the Head of the GCC Affairs Sector, Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Eid.

On the side of the General Secretariat, it was attended by the Advisor to the Secretary-General and General Supervisor of Protocol Affairs, Ayman Abdullah Al Muhanna, and Director of the Coordination and Follow-up Department at the General Secretariat of the GCC Council, Tariq Al Fadhel.
