Bahrainis top priority for jobs and development projects

The Bahraini citizens will remain the top priority for jobs and in all development projects in the Kingdom.
This was emphasised by the Deputy Prime Minister, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, as he chaired yesterday’s Supreme Council for Education and Training (SCET) 43rd meeting held remotely.
The SCET chairman underlined the government’s efforts to create rewarding jobs for the citizens and achieve more sustainable progress and development in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
He said that the government, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is resolved to adopt educational strategies and promote the employability of graduates.
The session approved several initiatives to develop school and post-school education to promote students’ opportunities in the labour market, obtain accreditation for qualifications, set criteria for exercising a profession, and improve the performance of the University of Bahrain.
HH the Deputy Prime Minister was updated about several initiatives to develop education and training and the phased implementation of educational programmes included within the unified framework of government priorities in its third updated version.
The session was also briefed about the development of the Employment Skills Platform, which is being implemented by the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) in a first in Bahrain, relying on artificial intelligence to provide comprehensive and integrated data for the most important skills and jobs required by the labour market.
The council also reviewed the progress of work on the “Skills Bahrain” project, which is one of the most important strategic initiatives for the development of after-school education.
The project aims to establish a national entity concerned with developing vocational education that works on building and developing the skills of the workforce to improve competitiveness and productivity in the labour market
