Five people, including two company’s owners and three employees, have been arrested in connection with selling fake spare parts. According to court files, the defendants owned a trading company and a warehouse, in which they were storing the spare parts.
During a routine inspection visit by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, the employees were caught to be making boxes similar to the ones that they are used to accommodate original spare parts, the Public Prosecution announced in a statement.
They were selling them like they were original, having used special computer-generated barcodes.
The defendants were ordered to be detained for seven days, pending further investigation into the case. They were charged with selling fake products.
