Zallaq, Balqees school maintenance works on way, says Works Ministry

The maintenance works of Zallaq Elementary Preparatory School for Boys and Balqees Primary School for Girls will begin soon, said the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning in a statement.

The ministry said the Tender Board is evaluating the bids received for the tender launched on 29th April and closed on Wednesday.

The work, the tender board said, attracted six companies, with their bids ranging between BHD 288,200.000 and BHD 347,270.000.

The lowest bidder, who meets the conditions of the project, will receive the contract, said Tender Board. Technical Construction Company quoted the lowest amount. The project includes civil and structural maintenance works such as internal and external painting, cracks repair, repair of ceilings and floorings, repair and replacement of doors and windows and renovation of toilets.

The contractor should also develop a water network, replace water tanks and perform all associated electrical works in three months. Works Ministry said the project is part of a plan agreed by the Ministry of Education to conduct comprehensive maintenance of 40 public schools in the Kingdom this year.
