The proposal to bring in Chinese medical experts to battle the pandemic was not aiming to insult the medical fraternity here, said Muhammad Al Dosari, a member of the Northern Governorate Municipal.
He said the proposal was based on his convictions and out of fear of the safety of the people. Al Dosari, the municipal member representing the third district in the Northern Governorate, had tabled a proposal to hire a medical team from China to support the National Medical Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the Kingdom.
His clarifications come following an uproar terming the proposal as an insult to the medical professionals here. Al Dosari explained that his statements were not directed towards the medical fraternity but were for helping them gain from the experiences of Chinese experts. “I have profound respect for the medical fraternity here, and I thank them and the leadership here for protecting the interests of the citizens and residents.”
“I commend the national medical team, the frontline workers, and the volunteers for their role in combating the pandemic.” Personal My proposal was personal and not represent the positions of the municipal council. It was for gaining from the experience of the Chinese experts in battling the pandemic, as they were also the first county to overcome the pandemic.” “Saudi had done it in April 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic, so I thought why not us.”
“Let us not forget the role of China in the UAE and Egypt,” he stressed, adding, “Everyone is cooperating for the benefit of their citizens.”
