Although COVID-19 pushed many final high school year traditions to the wayside and the graduation ceremony, conditioned by the lingering effects of the pandemic, was held virtually, Bahrain School students celebrated both their joyous spirit and their achievements.

"The Class of 2021 is composed of 57 students from 12 nations. They have an impressive record of school and community service and are talented leaders, artists, musicians, actors, and athletes," School Principal Shana Seawright said.

"They have collectively earned nearly $1,800,000 in scholarships and upon graduation have plans to pursue higher educational degrees or to enter the workforce, all to be productive members of our global community."

Six of the graduates are candidates for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, commonly known as IB DP.

"Shahla Alzayani, one of the IB DP students, also completed the DoDEA American Diploma requirements. We congratulate her for earning this tremendous accomplishment."

Of the remaining 51 graduates, 39 have completed the requirements of the DoDEA American Diploma, and 12 of them have completed the requirements for a DoDEA Honors Diploma.

"This means they have completed additional coursework above the required 26 credits and have maintained a 3.8 or above cumulative grade point average."

"We are very proud of all their efforts and wish them well in all of their future endeavors.  We also want them to know that they will always be part of our Falcon Family.”

This year’s Valedictorian is Izma Javed and the Salutatorian is Joseph Camuso, both graduating Summa Cum Laude and looking forward to pursuing their post-secondary education plans in Pakistan and the United States respectively.

“It was a challenging year, but our graduates persevered and completed all the requirements to earn their high school diplomas," Middle High School Assistant Principal Bernadine Camuso said.
