The National Communication Center in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Health held a virtual meeting yesterday to discuss the autonomisation strategy of government hospitals in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Taking part in the event were Dr Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari, the Chief Executive Officer of Government Hospitals, and a number of journalists and attendees. Dr Al Ansari discussed the future plans, updates and goals to be followed for the upcoming government health centres in the Kingdom.
They include increasing the number of medical consultations through improving the structure of the appointments, following medical guidelines and task force, in addition to monitoring the appointment and waiting period.
The plans that have been implemented by the government hospitals consist of providing additional evening specialised clinics, less waiting time to book new appointments, and including the information desk at the main building of the Salmania Complex.
Dr Al Ansari said that the Accident and Emergency department at Salmania Complex has been developed resulting in a 78% reduction in waiting time, 25% reduction of overcrowding and number of visitors in the waiting areas, 35% reduction in the patient’s waiting time to be consulted by an emergency doctor, including an expansion that increased the capacity of beds.
