Ready to snuff out terror: Minister

Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa has reiterated the unflinching position of the Kingdom of Bahrain in rejecting terrorism in all its forms and noted the country’s readiness to cooperate with the efforts to eliminate it.

Shaikh Khalid was speaking in a meeting with the Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL (Daesh) General John Allen, currently on an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, in his office here yesterday. The Minister also reviewed with him all the efforts being exerted to combat the ISIS organisation.

Stating that the war was essential to the security and safety of the humanity, the Foreign Minister noted the positive role being played by the coalition member states to counter Daesh and fight terrorism. He also expressed confidence that the forces of good would succeed through all their efforts to keep the forces of evil at bay and eliminate them.

General John Allen praised the role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the fight against terrorism and in its endeavours to dry up Daesh funds, especially that the Kingdom is an important member of the global coalition. He also expressed his pride in the close Bahraini-US relations and the advanced level they have reached.

The latest regional and international developments of common concern were also discussed in the meeting.
