Do not lay off Bahraini workers: Labour Minister

Private sector companies and establishments receiving salary support are committed to protecting the jobs of Bahraini employees, said Labour Minister.
Explaining the requirements companies should follow to receive wage support for three more months from June to August, the minister said the companies should not lay off Bahraini workers.
“Wage support requires a commitment from the companies to maintain local jobs throughout the support period,” the minister said, adding that the government will pay only 50% of salaries during July and August.
The wage support decision also calls for a commitment from companies to pay the wages of Bahraini workers in full on the set dates without deductions.
