Holding gatherings in breach of COVID-19 restrictions landed a tourism facility in Muharraq Governorate in hot waters.
The facility, authorities during a raid found, was holding two gatherings at a time in two rooms blatantly violating COVID-19 laws.
One of the rooms had 15 people and another 19, the authority found during the joint inspection by the Interior Ministry, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority, the Public Health Directorate’s inspectors.
The action followed a tip-off received by the ministry on community gatherings at the facility.
Authorities said the violators were awaiting legal actions from the Public Prosecution.
The Public Prosecution charged the facility with violating Law 34 of 2018 that calls on tourism and hotel facilities not to hold gatherings, celebrations, weddings or conferences at hotels, restaurants, and events’ halls until further notice.
