Strict adherence to Covid-19 restrictions, limitations to social gatherings, round-the-clock monitoring by ministry officials have drastically brought down the number of Covid positive cases as well as deaths in Bahrain.
At least a month ago the daily Covid deaths had even reached 28. Following this situation, Bahrain took some drastic steps including those similar to a lockdown and several other restrictions with the sole aim to contain the spread of the Coronavirus.
The National Taskforce for Combatting the Coronavirus, Health Ministry, Interior Ministry, Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry, as well as other government entities, stepped up their game, levying fines, shutting down and prosecuting shops, restaurants, cafes and salons for Covid protocol violations.
Hundreds of people were punished for failing to wear masks properly, socially gathering and breaking other Covid regulations.
Bahrain also brought in strict restrictions to people entering the kingdom from other countries.
Today's Covid statistics of Bahrain is a testimony that all these steps are paying off.
Out of 13117 Covid-19 tests carried out on 25 June 2021, 288 new cases have been detected among 158 expatriate workers, and 127 new cases were contacts of active cases and three travel-related.
There were 788 recoveries from Covid-19, increasing total recoveries to 258545.
There was one death yesterday bringing the total number of fatalities to 1335.
