Bahrain keen to maintain healthy work environment, protect workers rights, prevent human trafficking: LMRA

Bahrain’s keenness to maintain a healthy work environment that protects the rights of all parties and prevents human trafficking was stressed by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) Chief Executive Jamal Abdulaziz Al Alawi.

He received in his office Head of Mission of the International Organisation for Migration and Acting Resident Coordinator of the UN activities in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mohammed Zarqawi.

They discussed boosting cooperation between LMRA and the UN in various fields of common interest.

Al Alawi reviewed the efforts of LMRA, pointing out cooperation with the UN and its affiliated specialized organisations.

For his part, Al Zarqawi commended the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain to protect the expatriate workforce, pointing out the international reputation the kingdom gained in this regard.

He also voiced the keenness of the UN and its affiliated agencies to boost cooperation with LMRA in training Bahraini professionals.
